Los Niños

Vuestros hijos no son vuestros hijos
son los hijos y las hijas de las ansias de vida que sienten la misma Vida.
Vienen a través de vosotros; pero no desde vosotros;
y aunque estén con vosotros, no os pertenecen.

Podéis darles vuestro amor, pero no vuestros pensamientos;
porque tienen sus propios pensamientos.
Podéis hospedar sus cuerpos; pero no sus almas:
porque sus almas habitan en la casa del mañana que no podéis visitar, ni siquiera en vuestros sueños.

Sois los arcos mediante los cuales vuestros niños, como flechas vivientes, son disparados.
El Arquero ve el blanco sobre el sendero del infinito, y El os doblega con su poder para que sus flechas puedan volar rápido y lejos.

Haced que vuestra tensión en la mano del arquero sea para la alegría: porque como El ama a la flecha que vuela, asi ama El también al arco estable.
